Colorless:
Refrigerants do not have a visible color when released as a gas, making leaks hard to detect visually.
Odorless:
Most refrigerants (such as R-134a, R-410A, R-22, R-404A, etc.) have no natural smell, so they typically cannot be detected by scent alone.
Without proper detection, refrigerant gases can pose serious health hazards, including life-threatening asphyxiation.
Examples:
R-134a, R-22, R-404A, R-410A, R-407C
Mounting height:
15–50 cm above the floor
Why:
These refrigerants are denser than air and tend to accumulate near the ground.
Standard coverage:
20 to 50 m² per detector
In larger, well-ventilated spaces:
up to 80 m² may be possible with ideal airflow and proper placement
Additional Considerations:
Place near potential leak sources
